KING THANKFUL.
Failure of " Dastardly Attempt" On Lord Strickland. • SHOCKED AT NEWS. LONDON, May 25. The King-has sent a message to Malta stating that he was shocked to hear of the attempt on Lord Strickland's life and -thankful for the failure of the dastardly act. A message from Malta says the police raided a "club "where Miller, the would-be assassin, and found photographs of Signor Mussolini, also copies of a Fascist" hymn.
MADMAN'S ATTACK. DEPLORED AT VATICAN CITY. (Received 11 a.m.) VATICAN CITi* 3 May 25. The newspaper "Osservatore Romano" condemns the attempt on Lord Strickland's life. The Archbishop of Malta wrote to the Prime Minister rejoicing that the latter had escaped from the attack of a madman.
