COLLIDED WITH POLE.
NAVAL MAN KILLED. SIGNALLER ON DUNEDIN. The death occurred at the Auckland Hospital this morning at six o'clock of Arthur James Halliday, leading signalman of H.M.s. Dunedin. His head was injured when the motor cycle he was riding crashed into a pole at the intersection of King Edward Avenue and Cheltenham Road, Devonport, about 3 p.m. yesterday. The coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., opened the inquest this morning for the purposes of identification and adjourned the proceedings sine die.
