FIRE AT PENROSE.

EMPTY HOUSE DESTROYED. The second fire in Penrose tils week occurred early this morning, when an emptv nine-roomed house owned by Mr. 11. Segedin, of Ellerslie, was destroyed. The house, which had been occupied by Mr. J. S. Dickson, formerly MJ?. for the Parnell district, had just been renovated and a new tenant was ready to take possession next week. The Ellerslie Fire Brigade turned out, but was unable to save the building and, in fact, had difficulty in preventing the flames from spreading to the next door house. The building was insured for £1600 with, the Home Insurance Company.
