1000 Applicants For Ten Posts Abroad. BRITISH TRADE AGENTS. (British Official AVireless.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 2. About 1000 applications have been received from candidates outside the Civil Service for ten new trade commissionerships abroad, created by Mr. Thomas, Minister of Employment. It will take some time yet before the final stage of the selection by personal interview is reached. The preliminary sifting of the candidates' qualifications is still in progress. In the final selection eight commercial secretaries will be appointed in Argentina, Brazil, China, Columbia, Egypt, Finland, Persia, and Switzerland, as well as two trade commissioners at Montreal and Durban.
