SOUTH ISLAND RAILWAY.
CRITICIM RESENTED. MARLBOROUGH INDIGNATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Friday. Strong indignation was expressed by the Marlborough provincial executive of the Farmers' Union regarding the criticism levelled at tiie completion of the South Island Main Trunk railway by Mr. W. J. Poison, Dominion president of the union, in an address delivered by him at Invercargill. It was decided that Mr. Poison be asked to explain his statement3_ and his attitude when he visits Blenheim later this month. The meeting also unanimouslv carried the following resolution: "As it was understood that Mr. Polson's addresses during his South Island tour would be in his capacity of president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and would be confined to matteis of interest to the farming community, this executive objects generally to the political aspect given to his campaign, as it would appear from the newspaper reports, and particularly objects to his misleading statements regarding the South Island Main Trunk railway."
