Mrs. Lumsden, after spending a holiday in the Waikato, has returned to Hanmer. Mrs, Firth, of New Plymouth, has been spending a holiday in Hamilton. Mrs. F. Macky, of Auckland, has been staying with relatives in Cambridge. Mrs. J. R. Byrne, of Gisborne, has been staying in Hamilton. Mrs. J. Oliphant, of Te Awamutu, has returned home from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. H. A. Swarbrick has returned to Te Awamutu from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. S. T. Hampton, after staying with relatives at Gordonton, has returned to England. Mrs. C. R. Fowler, of Hamilton, is on a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Hastie, of Timaru, has been staying in Hamilton. Mrs. W. McCaw, of Hastings, is the guest of Mrs. Norman Banks at Cambridge. Mrs. G. Comfort, of Hamilton, has been staying with friends in Feilding. Miss L. Kelly, of Te Kau- | whata, is the guest of Mrs. R. BulL at t Napier. Miss Le Templier, of Cornwall, has been staying in Hamilton. Mrs. W. Stapley, of Auckland, has been staying in Cambridge with Mrs. Souter. i. Miss McPherson has returned to Taumarunui from a holiday visit to Auckland. Mrs. Poole, of Auckland, is staying in Cambridge with Mrs. D. Lundon. Mrs. Hussey has returned to Wanganui. Miss R. Lindale, of Wellington, has been staying in Hamilton. Miss Mary Beale, of Hamilton, is spending a holiday in Sydney. Mrs. J. Murray has returned to Hamilton from a holiday spent in Palmerstori North and New Plymouth. Miss M. McGuinness, of Hamilton, is away on a visit to the Wairarapa district. Mrs. A. Hosking, of Masterton, has been staying in Hamilton. Mrs. F. M. Murray, of Hastings, has been visiting Hamilton. A bridge evening was given in honour of Miss Helen Crowther at the home of Mrs. Garland, Cambridge. The drawing room was tastefully decorated with chrysanthemums. Mrs. Garland wore a smart frock of navy georgette; Mrs. H. Crowther, cherry velvet and georgette. Those present were: Mrs. Max Garland, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. White (Auckland), Mrs. Ludgate, Misses L Garland, V. Garland, E. Robinson, N. Butler, Meeking, M. Collis, J. Veale, M. Short, J. Priestley, J. Clemow, A. Brown, McCarrolJ, E. Skeet. The musical circle in connection with the Hamilton Lyceum Club met for the first time this year on Tuesday. There waa a good attendance. Those present were: Mrs. H. Ferguson (convener), Mrs. E. V. Stace, Mrs. A. W. Sims, Mrs. E. Bouillion, Mrs. G. K. Sinclair, Mrs. W. Farquliar, Mrs. G. R. Barnett, Mrs. F. D. Pinfold, Mrs. J. D. Smith, Mrs. Brown, Miss Jones and Miss Norah Valder. A gift afternoon was given for Miss Helen Crowther, of Cambridge, prior to her marriage, by Miss B. Swayne and Miss A. Browne. Those, present included: Mrs. F. Swayne, Mrs. L. Swayne, Mrs. H. Crowther, Mrs. H. Vosper, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. W. Rush, Mrs. N. Macky, Mrs. Norman Banks, Mrs. B. Couper, Mrs. Ludgate, Mrs. E. Martin, Mrs. Ambury, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. R. Batchelor, Mrs. Blennerhassett, Mrs. C-. Meredith, Mrs. Williams, Misses M. Swayne, B. Crowther, M. Hart, Ambury, A. Nelson, J. Hulme, A. Cox, E. Skeet, Buckland, I. Garland, R. McPherson, M. Souter, M. Short, J. Clemow, J. Couper, M. Collis, J. Veale and Banks. Mt3.. N. Macky, of Cambridge, entertained "a number of her friends on Tuesday. The drawing room was artistically decorated with bowls of cactus dahlias and chrysanthemums. Those present were: Mrs. J. Wilson, Mrs. H. Crowther, Mrs. Welch, Mrs. Bartlett, Mrs. C. Latimer, Mrs. W. Cowling, Mrs. A. L. Wallace, Mrs. B. Fleming, Mrs. W. Nickle, Misses A- Power, L. Nickle, Buckland, J. Power and R. Nickle.
