II TRAIN PASSENGER. W i CAUGHT BY TABLET. MAN HURLED DOWN LINE. ' INJURED ARM AMPUTATED. (Sy Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMEESTON NORTH, this clay. Frederick Ellis, of Otaki, a passenger on the Napier-Wellington express yesterday, was badly injured in an accident at Linton station. Ellis was leaning out of the platform of the first' carriage, apparently waving to friends, when his arm caught the fork of the tablet. Ha. was dragged from the carriage and hurled 32 feet down the line. A When removed to the Palnierston North Hospital he was found to be sufferiirj from a mangled wrist, broken ribs' and scalp wounds. Subsequently it was found necessary to amputate tin , arm at the elbow. He is progressing satisfactorily.
