DEATH OF MRS. H. E. GOLDFINCH.

Sincere sympathy will be extended by all sportsmen to 11. E. Gold&nch, the well-known jockey,- in connection with the death of his wife, which occurred at the Auckland Hospital late yesterday afternoon after a very sudden illness The late Mrs. Goldfinch was the daughter of the late T. Taylor, a prominent jockey, who met his death as the result of injuries received when Polmtu fell in 'the Great Northern Guineas in 1907. Goldfinch has experienced very bad luck during the last year or two. He lost one of his children, and another died as the result of an accident a few months back. He himself was seriously injured at Te Aroha in March last, and he has not since >f>n able to resume his calling.
