WOOLLEN TRADE.
LIKELY TO STOP WORK Yorkshire Workers Oppose Wage Cuts. PEAYERS FOR SETTLEMENT. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, March 31. A meeting of textile workers of Yorkshire on Saturday has strengthened the belief of the trades union executives that they will cease work when the cuts in wages take effect on April 12.
Eepresentatives of the general council of the Trades Union Congress are visiting Bradford. They hope the Ministry of C Labour will intervene to avert a prolonged stoppage. At present, however, there are no indications of either side giving tray. Prayers for a wise and just settlement were offered in all the Anglican and Free Churches in Yorkshire yesterday.
