QUEEN" CARNIVAL ORGANISED. ! (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, Thursday. Town and country residents are cooperating in arrangements to celebrate Te Aroha's jubilee. At the Borough Council meeting last night Messrs. F. W. Walters, W. T. Dale, W. A. Clark and G. A. Bush, representing the Thames Valley Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association, discussed with the council a combined effort in support of the jubilee queen carnival. They said the amount required by the association to pay off a debt on its buildings and to erect cattle yards was £SOO, and it had been proposed that the jubilee committee receive 25 per cent of the net profits and the association 75 per cent. - The Deputy-Mayor, Mr. Hedge, and councillors expressed pleasure at the fact of town and country arranging to cooperate- in the programme for jubilee year. Mr. Hedge said the council's committee had proposed that the basis of net profits be 33 1-3 and CO 2-3 per cent. After a general discussion it .was decided that the matter of percentage be considered at the next meeting.
