MOTORISTS' RALLY.
On Sunday about 300 motorists took part in a "rally" at Maungamuku Goz-ge, organised by Mr. C. F. McArtliur, Auckland Automobile Association agent at Kohukoliu. Speeches were made, Mr. Allan Bell urging that the Automobile Association should co-operate in securing better roads in the North, in preference to unprofitable railways. Mr. J. E. Self congratulated northern motorists on the splendid roading programmes that had been completed and expressed surprise at the wonderfully , fertile country. Mr. B. E. Champtaloup predicted that motor traffic would increase 500 per cent 'in the North'in three years and urged motorists to exercise the rule of safety 'first on the road.
