HAURAKJ CONSOLIDATED. j TRIBUTERS' FIND TAKEN OVER. Arrangements have been made by the directors of the Hauraki Consolidated Gold Mining Co. at Coroinandel to take over tha find made by the tributers, Messrs. Mar* ston and Blackmore, above the 300 ft level. The few pounds of specimens secured by the tributers were very rich,. and it i® hoped that further work on the reef by the company may lead to important de« velopments. The find was made in a crossleader' under the locality where Legge's party of tributers made a big discovery; many years ago.
A telegram was received yesterday even* ing re the tributers' new find: —"Stripping the reef towards the junction. Nice gold showing in several places."
MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Moanataiari.—The shaft was sunk to 100 feet, and we are opening out for the chamber. Good progress is being made anfl the first chamber set put in position. There are several stringers of quartz in the chamber, and a few odd colours of gold have been seen in them. There is quartz showing in the south end of the shaft, and when the chamber is cut we will be breaking quartz nearly straight away. We are having no trouble with the water, the pump only working at about one-tenth of its capacity. ' Alburnia. —Rise on the main Orlando lode, from stripe, has been risen sft: a total of 36ft. The reef here averages 2ft wide, and is a strong body of stone, carrying bright mineral blende and silica. Colours of gold are still seen in the ore. The country rock on both walls is still of splendid class for making gold, being interlaced with quartz and silica veins. Drive north on hangingwall branch of the Orlando lode, from bottom of winze, lws been driven 3ft: a total of Sft. The reet here is a strong heavily mineralised body of stone carrying antimony, blende and silica. Colours of gold are seen in the ore. The country rock on both walls is of a splendid class for making gold, carrying all the minerals one could desire. Rise nn cross leader from drive north, on the hangingwall branch of Orlando lode, has been risen oft; a total of 122 ft. The leader here averages 12in wide, and still looks well, carrying nice bright mineral blende, antimony and silica. The country rock on both walls is still of splendid class for making gold.
