STREET UP—KNUCKLE UP.
PARIS BOYS' PRANK. PARIS, March 14. Residents of a side street were surprised one morning earlier in the week to find a barrier across the entry on which was a placard stating that the street was. closed for repairs. After several;, days, in which no workmen appeared, inquiries were made. They revealed that boys had put up the barriers in order to play marbles undisturbed. PARSON GUNMAN. MADE LOVE TO WIDOW. OTTAWA (Illinois), March 14. The Rev. James Wilson, 60, a pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was discovered making love to the widow of one of his parishioners. When two officials of the church threatened to make public charges, Wilson went gunning for,tllein'. He shot Amos Elliott, who was seriously wounded by a bullet under the heart, and Elliott's wife suffered a flesh wound. Wilson was arrested and refused bail.
