HIDE AND SKIN SALES.
A general decrease in price was in evidence at the fortnightly sale of hides and sheepskins held yesterday. Prices are:—
Cow Hides.—Best grade, light, 5%d to OY2d per lb; medium and heavy, 5%d to 5%d; cut, iVtd to 4%d; second grade, 4d to 4 x /4d; ox, best grade, light, 5%d to 59id; medium, 5%d to 6d; heavy, 6%d to 6%d; cut, 5d to sVsd; sermd grade, to od; kips, best grade, to 5%d; second grade, 4%d to sd; yearlings, heavy, 6%d; light, B}4d to second grade, sMid to 6d; calfskins, heavy, S x /4d to B%d; medium, lid to ll%d; light, 10% d to lid; small, 9%d to lOd; slippy, 7d to 7Msd; cut, 9d to 9Vkl.
Sheepskins.—Dried, three-quarter to full woolled, medium to fine crossbred, 7d to 7%d per lb; coarse, 6%d to 7d; faulty, sYzd to 6d; damaged, 3d to badly damaged, 3d to 3%d; quarter to half woolled, GMid to 7d; coarse, 6d to 6%d; faulty, 5d to 5%d; damaged, 2%d to 3d; bare to quarter woolled, 6d to 6%d; second grade and faulty, 3d to 4%d; lamb skins, best grade, 6%d to 7d; faulty and seedy, 4M>d to sd; damaged, 3}4d to 4d; salted sheepskins, large, 3/4 to 3/8 each; medium, 2/9 to 3/3; bare to quarter woolled, large, 2/4 to 2/9; light and small, 1/6 to 2/; faulty, 1/3 to 1/6; lambskins, large, 3/1 to 3/3; medium, 2/6 to 2/10; light, 1/8 to 2/2; shorn, 1/ to 1/4. Tallow, in barrels, good mixed, 26/ to 26/6 per cwt; second grade, 24/ to 24/6; poor quality, 20/ to 21/6; in tins, good mixed, 24/6 to 25/; second grade, 22/ to 23/; horsehair, best tail, 1/6 to 1/8 per lb; mixed, 1/3 to 1/4; short and mane, 8d to 9d; bones, clean, dry,. £5 15/ a ton.
