MOUNT EDEN CARNIVAL , WINS INTER-CLUB. MOUNT .EDEN. THE. INTER-CLUB RELAY. , The Mount Eden Swimming Club 1 '"brought off its third carnival of the season last evening, when a most enjoyable evening's sport was provided. A long programme of 42 events, including licats, was served and some very close finishes resulted, although the relays were rather uninteresting and were won by substantial margins. The only starters for the 440 yards Cueksey Cup were R. Porteous (scr) and A. Keane (30s). Porteous caught Keane ' at 300 yards and without exerating ■ himself beat his opponent by 16 2-ss. Only Ponsonby and Mount Eden teams competed in the 333 1-3 yards interclub relay, the Mount Eden team proving much the superior and winning by 10 l-ss. The primary schools' relay, 2GG 2-3 yards, for the Stevenson Shield saw Kowh'ai score a' very easy win from Vauxhall, Ivowhai winning by 19 4-ss. Results:— Inter-club Relay Championship, 333Jyds. Mount Eden 1, Ponsonby A 2, The only starters. At the end o£ the first distance ' Mount Eden had a lead of two yards over Ponsonby.
