LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AVONDALE CLUB. A further meeting of the newly-formed Avondale League Football Club was held on Monday evening, there being. a good attendance. Officers were elected as follow Chairman, Mr. Stock; deputy-chair-man, Mr. Clough ; secretary, Mr. W. Lauder; treasurer, Mr. S.. Herring; committee, Messrs. \V. Bralthwaite, Little, P. Wood, Herring,' Stock, Clough and \V. Lauder; delegate-to the Junior Management Committee, Mr. Stock; delegate to the Schools Committee, Mr. Braithwaito; club captain, Mr. Catterno.; patron, Dr. J. Patersdu; vice-patron, Mr. C. 11. Herdson; president, Mr. 11. P. Burton. The secretary stated that the club was not, in any way antagonistic to existing Rugby clubs, but hoped there was room for both forms of game in the district. Footballs were donated by .Messrs. Vf. .7, Tait, 11. P. Burton and P. Wood. Medals were also donated for and CB teams by 'Mr. Melfcat and an anonymous donor. . .The club will hold Its lirsfc practice on the Avoudalo racocourse ou Saturday. j
