"OBJECTS ACCOMPLISHED."
TOWN PLANNING ASSOCIATION PROPOSED AMALGAMATION. The question of amalgamating with the newly-formed Town Planning Institute as a branch was brought forward by the chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, at last night's meeting of the Auckland Town Planning Association. "Our organisation was founded to educate public opinion on the subject of town planning, and to get a competent director of town planning for New Zealand," said Mr. Hoklsworth. "These objects have been accomplished. The City Council npw has a town planning committee, and will soon have a regional town planning committee. The question is now whether we should link up with the Town Planning Institute."
The secretary read the constitution of the institute, and pointed out that the Auckland Association could become the local branch of the wider body. After a brief discussion it was decided to defer the matter until more information was obtainable.
