The Piako County Council to-day resolved that other county .councils be informed of a magistrate's decision to the effect that a motor travelling at 40 miles per. hour did not endanger the safety of the public, and that their attention be drawn to the fact that the Automobile Association was acting against the object of the council, which was to stop undue speeding, by taking members' subscriptions from country settlers and using the money to back up motorists in fast travelling, to the detriment of country roads.
