DEMAND FOR FAT PIGS.
Messrs. Alfred Bucldand and Sons, Ltd v conducted their ordinary eale at Pukekohe yesterday. Prices for cattle were maintained, and those for fat pigs showed a firming tendency. One pen of four heavy prime baeonei'S realised £5 each, the highest reached this season. Quotations are: Heavy prime baeoners, £4 14/ to £5; medium baeoners, £4 6/ to £4 10/; light baeoners, £4 to • £4 3/; heavy porkers,.£3 8/ to £3 13/; medium porkers, £2 16/ to £33/; light porkers, £2 9/ to £2 13/; email and unfinished porkers, £2 2/ to £2 5/; large stores, £2 to £2 7/; smaller, £1 15/ to £1 18/; good slips, 29/ to 32/; others, 24/ to 27/; best weaners, 19/ to 21/; small and weedy, 11/ to 14/; choppers, £2 12/ to £5 6/ according to weight.
