INCURRED DEBT BY FRAUD.

SENT BACK TO PRISON AGAIN,

John Lennox, an old criminal with a long list of previous convictions, who always tells a good tale, received another six months' sentence this morning from Mr. F. Iv. Hunt, S.M.

Lennox pleaded guilty when charged with incurring a debt of £20 10/ with J. R. McKenzie, Ltd., and obtaining credit by fraud.

Detective Sergeant T. liclly said Lennox gave a fictitious name and said he was a contractor with a camp housing CO men working for him. He ordered crockery," etc., for the camp. "In this way," said Mr. Kelly, "he got into the good graces of the manager and borrowed 10/ from him, to go out to Onehunga to his 'bank.' He came back again and wanted another loan, but this time the manager became auspicious and Lennox was arrested." "Did he get the goods he ordered," asked Mr. Hunt. Mr. Kelly: No, sir, he never had time to get delivery of them. "Why, he's not long out of gaol," remarked Mr. Hunt as he persued accused's list of convictions. Lennox was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
