ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
THIS MORNING'S WORK. > V i Fine weather prevailed at Ellerslie this morning for training work. The course proper, with the poles about 20 feet cut from the rails, and No. 3 grass track ■ were open for fast work, but there was not a great deal doing. The going was excellent. The Course Proper. Tambourine and Lusqma were sent over •five furlongs, running the distance in 1.6 3-5. Tambourine, who finished on . the better of the pair, had about a length's advantage at the finish. Manawlienua and Speak Out ran home from the half mile peg in 52 2-5. There was not much between them, and both shaped well. 5 Salamander covered six furlongs Jii t 1.25. Lady Court, going easily, covered three furlongs along the back in 42 2-ss. This filly is on the improve. Foot Rule and Grand Spirit jumped off at the mile barrier aud finished up at T the half-mile peg iirs3 4-ss. They began 1 slowly and Grand Spirit, on reaching the course proper, tried to run off, but was soon straightened up, and, taking the lead shortly afterwards, finished in front. Brampton strode over a mile, but was not after time, although he did his work ~ wel!. Good Boy worked very freely over six 1 furlongs, running the distance in 1.20 1-5. 1 Measurer, Diamond Queen and Spring s Abbey were in that order at the end of five furlongs run in 1.7 1-5. Measurer, who carried a good weight and was on the outside, galloped impressively. Some Lady got to the end of six furlongs in 1.21 3-5. Roman Pearl completed a lialf nule \ task in 53 4-5, but could have done better. Escalus was going better than Arabesque over half a mile, which they covered in 52 l-ss. No. 3 Grass. Neil was the first to work on this track, traversing a, round, and running home the last six furlongs in 1.19. Tetrachato and Royal Lover ran half a mile in 50 2-555. There was little between them at the finish. Golden Wedding was holding Avon- 6 couit safely at the conclusion of four r furlongs, which took 50 2-ss. , Kaiangapai and Gay Idea covered t three furlongs in 41 4-5s on the two- i year-old track. 7 Others to do useful tasks at Ellerslie b this morning were The Lover, Curraiong, t Sir Archie, Importer, Red Lion Hvde C Park and Cynthia N.
