WARKWORTH SHOW.

ANOTHER RECORD EVENT. district wealth on view. HORSES, CATTLE, SHEEP AND PRODUCE. Described as the premier show of the county, the Rodney A. and P. Societj s sixty-first event was held at Warkworth to-day under ideal conditions. Hundreds of people came from all parts of North Auckland, and events followed each other •< sutft quick succession, that there was nab e dull moment in the horse ring. Entries in all classes were more than those at any previous show. Entries in the Jersey and sheep sections were particularly strong. In the home industries record entries were received. The committee, with the president, Mr. J. L. Buchamin, have made excellent arrangements, and the indefatigable secretary, Mr. E. A. Cook, carried them out. to the satisfaction of all concerned. Prize money amounting to £250 was offered, and this fact was responsible for very keen competition. The association has a fine collection of valuable cups and trophies, some of which have been given by his Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, Lord Gremthorpe, of Leeds, Yorkshire (for championship hunter), and Lord Rodney, of Canada (for most points in pedigree cattle). In addition there are 15 other handsome silver cups, together with silver rose bowls and light trophies. 1 In the home industry section the wealth of the Rodney County, and in particular of Warkworth, is well illustrated. Fruit,, vegetables, preserves, home-made cake and bread are shown in profusion, and the needlework and such _ like articles demonstrate the abilities of the settlers' wives and daughters.
