PERSONAL.

Major J. A. Whitney, of Auckland, •will be a passenger to England, by the Rangitata to-day, from Wellington. The Hon. J. B. Donald, Minister of Custom's, and Mrs. Donald, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. E. J. Kelly, with a party, leaves this afternoon in his motor boat Linda for Mercury Island, where they will go after the big fish. Mr. Justice Frazer arrived in Auckland yesterday, and will preside at the sittings of the Arbitration Court. Ho is at Hotel Cargen. Mr. C. M. Croft, Canadian Trade Commissioner, will return to Auckland today from Wellington by the evening train. Among those at the Albert Hotel are Mr. W. A. Hislop, Mr. K. J. H. Ainslee (Wellington), Mr. A. S. E. Stewart (Dublin), Mr. D. 11. White (Matamata). Messrs. E. J. and R. W. Schofield and H. Kent, of General Motors, leave this evening in Mr. L. Stericker'a new launch Ruatangi for a fortnight's fishing off Capo Brett. Mr. L. G. Miller, Mr. A. J. Sligo, Mr. J. Brittand (Whangarei), Mr. B. G. Mklgley (Chritschurch), Mr. Bengin (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. Eecles (Whakatane), are at the Royal Hotel. Colonel T. A- Hunter, who has relinquished the appointment of director of dental services and has been succeeded by Lieut.-Colonel J. N. Rishwortli, retains the position of director of school dental services. Guests at the Central Hotel include Messrs. K. R. Smith (Palmerston North), Mr. and Mrs. W. Parker (Putaruru), Messrs. N. Potts (Opotiki), Lindsay Weir (Eltham), L. E. Eastabrook, (Wellington). Mr. R. J. Anwyl, F.R.G.S., general manager for New Zealand and Australia for Thomas Cook and Son, will leave Auckland for Vancouver by the Niagara on February 11. He is en route for Europe, and will try to stimulate travel in this direction. Staying at the Grand Hotel are Mr. A. E. Paterson, Mr. A. J. Barbour (Christchurch), Mr. and Mrs. A. de Valil Davies (New Plymouth), Dr. N. Allison (Boston), Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Doughty (Wellington), Mr. F. P. A. Chapman (London), Mr. P. Norman (Perak,- Malay States). . _
