YESTERDAY'S PLAY.

STUART'S RINK SUCCESSFUL. SINGLES TO LAMBETH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Friday. Another delightful day was experienced for the Dominion bowling tournament. Finality was reached in the rinks and singles competitions.:, A St. Kilda team, slapped by D. M. Stuart, won the rinks championship, while another rink from the same club filled second* place. The rinks final resulted in an easy win for Stuart; who led by 25 points to 9 at the end of 19 heads. As the opposing team led by Adess then had to get the possible number of points on two heads to tie, Adess retired from the contest. Stuart ran into a strong lead soon after the start, and was never seriously threatened with defeats At one stage Adess and his men resorted to driving tactics, and the 17th head was burnt no fewer than three times. In the final of the singles F. Lambert (Balmacewan) beat P. Vance (Sumner) by six points. Vance led by 11 points to 2 when seven heads had been played, but in the next four ends Lambeth reduced his lead to one, and,the scores were 15 all at the end of 17 heads. After that Lambeth did all the scoring. At the commencement of the game a tricky wind prevailed, making accurate play somewhat difficult, but, taken -all round, the game was an Interesting one, although on a few heads play was hardly up to championship standard. In one of the green finals in the pairs competition the game between Tamblyn (St. Kilda) and Thompson (Southland) was very even in the early stages, but from the 17th head onward Tamblyn •had matters practically his own way, and prevailed by 20 points to 17. The green final between Cooper (Southland) and Stuart (St. Kilda) provided some fairly tall scoring. A lead of seven on the first three heads stood Cooper in good stead, and after 11 heads had been played he led by 20 points to 10, finishing the winner, 27—23: The game between Nelson and Ardell in the first round of the post-section play resulted in a comfortable win for the former, the game ending on the 15th head, with the scores of 24—10 in his favour. In the game between Jenkin (Carlton) and Nelson in the second round the former made a good start, and at the end of the 15th head led by 24 points to 10. Nelson then made a good recovery, and at the finish there was a difference of only five points, the score being 25—20 in Jenkin's favour. In the third round Burgess scored an easy victory over Fastier by 29 points to 17.

Following are detailed results of the rinks games:—Semi-final: Stuart (St. Kilda) 26, beat Veitch (West Harbour) 18; Adess, a bye. Final: E..S. Wilson, J. Buist, J. Dowland and D. M. Stuart (St. Kilda) 2o', beat W. R. Todd, T. O'Sullivan, B. H. Tamblyn and Gr. Adess (St. Kilda) 9.
