The following have been awarded scholarships by the trustees under the will of the late Mr. Humphrey Eawhngs: Leonard Herbert .Jones (Onehunga School), with 169 marks out of .250. , ' Kenneth'G. Johnson (Kowliai School), with 169 marks out of 250. . Christopher William Weir (Avondale School), 163 marks out of 250. There was a record number of entries this year. There were 103 applicants, representing 29 schools. „ The scholarships are tenable for three years, commencing fiom the first term in the year 1930, and consist of free tuition at either the Auckland Grammar School or King's .College, as the parents choose. ..
