WHAT TO WEAR.
Every now and then a discussion arises as to whether women dress to please men or to please themselves. I think-most of us dress to pleasei ornselves (states a writer in a Lo " d °" paper), but if sensible we try to adapt ideas somewhat to those of our o particular male. But the girl who tried to dress to please men as-awho e have a hard job. If she leads columns of the Press devoted to readers *. letters she would come to the condiisiofl. that what men really wanted was the old-fashioned girl. She must not powder or rouge or wear short splits, an hair must not be short. If she followed this advice, the only result wou dp ably be that the younger men ;ot .her acquaintance would Cease to he. aw of her existence. .'lf she looked among her girl friends she might thmk that men preferred the girl who dress.ei a very feminine style. It is tr "e tha most men are very fond of lace, .a nd 1 choosing our evening frocks it is easy to please them, but the. feminine y can be carried too far. We of rain in Britain, and fluffy, clothes can easily look draggled. The only. yf' . Aian a cirl can be. sure of pleasing Is the sportsman. Wear clo J^ () J u J jj able, for the game and - you cannot g wrong: But he will- probably never notice what you are wearing, anyway, so why worry?
