SIR JOSEPH WARD.
With all due courtesy to Mr. Davy and Mr. Jenkins, M.P., Sir Joseph Ward is the , most outstanding politician in the House, to-day. The many loyal supporters of the Prime Minister will not be influenced in the slightest by the outbursts of Messrs. Davy, and Jenkins.: Mr. Davy selected the psychological moment to transfer his allegiance from the Reform to the United party, and I venture to assert that even without'the alleged superorganising ability of Mr. Davy the Reform party would have been duly defeated at this last election. In the 'nineties Ballance and Seddon righted the country by a vigorous land development policy. Ward's policy is identical to-day. He is following the methods of his illustrious leaders. Permit me to suggest that a little more.solicitude for a sick man would have been, a more "graceful act from .both gentlemen.. V ... C, "SCOypC^^
