ROTORUA NOTES.

Miss Isles, Ti Street, is on a visit to Christchurch, Dunedin, and Geraldine. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips and Miss Muriel Phillips, of Mount Eden, are spending the Christmas holidays -in Rotorua. Mrs. Boucher and Miss Gwen Boucher, Ohinemutu, are spending the holidays a', their summer residence at Lake Rotoiti. Major and Mrs. E. Miles and family, of Devonport, are spending a month's holiday in Rotorua. Mrs. Grove, sen., and Miss Dora Grove, Fenton Street, are visiting Mount Maunganui. Mr. and Mrs. Liston Wilson, of Remuera, are on a visit to Rotorua. Miss Elsie Winslade, Haupapa Street, has left for Auckland, where she will join the Ulimaroa, en route to Sydney, on a six weeks' holiday. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Davys and Miss V. Davys, Pukuatua Street, are spending a holiday in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Best, of Auckland, are on a visit to Rotorua. The Misses Beverley, of Hamilton, are visiting Rotorua. Major J. Whitney, Miss Alice Whitney, of Seaview Road, Remuera, and Miss Leonie Whitney, of England, are the guests of Mrs. A. J. Macdermott, Carnot Street. Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Burt and Miss C. Burt, of Seaview Road, Remuera, are visiting Rotorua. Miss A. Searell, matron of King George V. Hospital, has left on a holiday to Auckland and Russell. Mrs. H. P. Ford, Malfroy Road, Is on a short visit to Auckland. Miss M. Ray, Kia Ora, motored through to Auckland, and will also spend a holiday at New Plymouth. Miss I. Anderson has left for Auckland, where she will spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs. Anderson, Mount Eden. Canon and Mrs. Archdall and family, of Otahuhu, are staying in ' Rotorua for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips-Turner, of Wellington, are the guests of their son, Dr. Phillips-Turner, King George V. Hospital. The Christmas tree for the children patients at King George V. Hospital was given by the local Red Cross branch to the Sunday school in the recreation room at the liospital. Yellow and mauve streamers made effective decorations. Mrs. E. Robertson, Mrs. J. Halkett, Mrs. L. A. Lewis, Misses Burgess, 0. Louden, Hale, Anonie, and Mr. J. Hemphill were in charge of all the arrangements. A beautiful early Victorian posy of pink and red roses was presented to Mrs. E. Robertson by one of the little patients. The tree was erected in the centre of the room, and Father Christmas, assisted by little Baby Christmas, distributed the gifts from the heavily-laden tree to each child, and an excellent concert was wiven by the children of the Devon Street Sunday School, under the direction of Mrs. W. A. Carter. An enjoyable dance was given on Christmas night by Miss O'Hagen for the guests staying at the Empire Hotel. The decorations were multi-coloured streamers, and excellent du-nce music was supplied by the Dixieland Orchestra. Among the guests present were: Major and Mrs, Covvper (Auckland), Miss M. Dorset, Mrs. J. Crowther, Miss B. Newmarch, Mr. and Mrs. Hodgson, Miss Cleary, Miss B. Dorset, Miss Graham (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas, Mr. and Mrs. Tate (Eltham), Mr. and Mrs. Vaughan (Gisborne), Mrs. and Miss Myerscougliy, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan (Hawera), Misses MacKenlay (Seatoun), Miss Hodgsvn (Hamilton), Mr. McVeagh (Auckland), Messrs. Simons, Mrs. McDarmott (Auckland).
