FLOURISHED REVOLVER.
MAN DRINKING IN HOTEL. "VIOLENT TEMPER WHEN DRUNK." The story that he liad "got the revolver off a seaman to me for pig shooting," was disbelieved by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this'morning, when told by Richard Colvin Harris, alias Murphy, of Tangarakau Flat, Taranaki, who appeared 011 a charge of being in unlawful possession -of a revolver and five rounds of .32 ammunition. Chief Detective Hammond said that Harris was drinking in a city hotel yesterday, and was flourishing the revolver. He was a violent tempered man, especially when he was in liquor. "He has got a list," continued Mr. Hammond, "and I think he' had better be remanded so that we can make some inquiries." "I think you had better," agreed the magistrate. "We can't have a man like this, with 20 or 30 convictions for all sorts of assault, wandering round with a revolver. Remanded till Monday."
