Aorangi, from Vancouver (306 bags English and American mail). CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS, 1929-30. Postal Branch. TUESDAY, 24th and 31st DECEMBER—An over-counter delivery of Town letters (registered as well as ordinary) will be made from the Postmen's Branch, first floor, between 7 and 8 p.m. On 24th inst. a special clearance of all city letter-boxes will be made at 6 p.m., but the usual midnight clearance will not be made. WEDNESDAY, 25th DECEMBER (CHRISTMAS DAY) will be observed as a close holiday. Mails for Southern offices will close at 5.30 p.m. The midnight clearance of street letter boxes will be made as usual. THURSDAY, 26th DECEMBER (BOXING DAY) and WEDNESDAY, Ist JANUARY (NEW YEAR'S DAY) will be observed as close holidays. All mails will close at 4 a m., with the exception that those for Southern offices will close at 5.30 p.m. Only parcels on which the "Express Transit" fee has been paid will be dispatched. The midnight clearance will be made as usual. There will be no delivery by postmen. Late fee letters for Southern offices may be posted in the box at the entrance to the railway station platform, up to 10 minutes before the advertised times of departure of the Express trains. THURSDAY. 2nd JANUARY—AII branches will be open for business. The usual afternoon delivery by postmen will not be made. Telegraph Branch. WEDNESDAY, 25th DECEMBER—IO a.m. to 10.30 a.m., and 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. THURSDAY, 26th DECEMBER —9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. to midnight. WEDNESDAY.
