POLICE COURT NEWS.
SEAMAN SENT TO GAOL. HAWKER FIXED FOR ASSAULT. A small parade of "drunks" and three other offenders were all that Mr. F. K. Hunt,_ S.M., was called upon to deal with in the Police Court this morning. "I've got a place to stay," pleaded Thomas Kelly, aged 33, a seaman, who was charged with being an idle and disorderly person. A constable said that whenever lie approached Ivclly, accused was ahvay: "going to catch a boat tomorrow." He was always abusive and had caused t l -? police a lot of trouble! ''Three months," said Mr. Hunt. FALSE TEETH BROKEN. Complete with swallow tail coat, Patrick Regan, alias Roddy, alias McCann, alias McGee, a hawker, aged G5, appeared on a charge of assaulting William Meek. "He was trying to sell something in one of the hotels, said Sub-Inspector McCarthy, "and when a man wouldn't buy anvthing, lie hauled off and hit him. He broke the nian'o false teeth." Regan was fined £1. REMAND ON THEFT CHARGE. A Maori youth named Jack Mokara, aged 23, a labourer, was charged with stealing a coat valued at £2 10/, the property of Francis Crew. He pleaded not guilty. Chief Detective Hanmmond said other charges wera to be brought against Mokara, and a remand until Friday was granted.
