CHILD KILLED BY TRUCK.
SON OF RAILWAY PORTER. PLAYING IN SHUNTING YARD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Saturday. Ronald George Whelan, the two-year-old son of the railway porter stationed at Centre Bush station, received fatal injuries through being run overy by a truck in the station yard. \ With two elder brothers the child was playing in the yard while his father and two other men were moving some loaded trucks. One was allowed to go free, and they were about to push other trucks in the same direction when one of the elder boys called out that Ronald was under the truck He was discovered with a truck wheel over the lower portion of his body. Medical aid was summoned, but the boy died shortly afterwards.
