FAREWELL 70 MR. MORTON
SEND-OFF AT ONE TREE HILL. TRIBUTES TO WORK. ( In appreciation of his work on the Transport Board, the One Tree Hill Road Board gave a '"send-off" to Mr. F. S. Morton, last evening. "If the Transport Board had more members of Mr. Morton's- calibre, the outlying districts would be getting better treatment to-day," said the chairman, Mr. J. S. Hardwick. Other members a/io paid a tribute to Mr Morton's work. In reply, Mr. Morton declared that he still considered the things he fought for were in the best interests of the whole transport area. He still believed that the flat rate was the only thing that would get the Transport Board out of its present position. The trackless trolly buses which he had advocated, would, he believed, be shortly introduced, and he was sure they would be a paying proposition.
