RELIEF WORKER. KILLED
BLASTING ACCIDENT,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday,
An unemployed relief worker, Henry Tucker, engaged by the Public Works Department on a new road between Gebbie?s Pass and Kennedy's Bush, was killed to-day as a result of a blasting accident. A number of shots were being fired, when Tucker was struck on the head by a piece of stone and killed instantly. A similar accident occurred on the same road on August '17, when another member of the gang was killed in almost similar circumstances.
