The Thames Rod ana Gun Club held their opening shoot of the season on Saturday,; Dr. ,J. B. Liggins firing the.first shot. The competitions resulted as follow: — ' Seven' Bird: Sweepstake.—W. R. Smith (possible) 1, Dr. Liggins (6 birds) 2, S. Sparke and A. Smith, tie, 3. Seven.. Bird Sweepstake.—W. Sparke (possible) 1, A. McLean (6 birds) 2, G. H. Shaw'and A. Smith, tie, 3. Eight Bird Trophy.—G. Thompson (possible) 1, S. Sparke and W. Sparke, tie, 2, E. Thornton and A. Smith, tie, 3. Seven Bird Sweepstake.—B. McDonald and A. Smith tied and divided the prize. At a subsequent meeting of the club, it was decided to hold fortnightly shoots till Christmas.
