RANGATAUA BALL.
On Labour Day night the memb'ers of the Rangataua Public Service held their annual ball in the Rangataua Town Hall, and it proved a most succcessful function. The- hall was tastefully decorated with, multi-coloured stream'erSj-balloons and palms. was excellent and bright, spirited.music was provided by the Peerless Dance Orchestra, while Mrs. Leckie and Mr. C. Plank kindly supplied the extras. Early in the evening fancy paper hats were distributed and later streamers made the gay scene even gayer. The committee consisted of Mesdames Drury, who wore coffee coloured silk lace; Harrison, red.crepe de chine, cream lace; Graham, green crepe de chine, gold lace; 'Barnacle, air force blue georgette and blue lace; Murdie, figured vieux rose and silk marocain.. : The dangers included: Miss McKone, in flame'taffeta; Miss K. McKone, white, georgette, trimmed with pink;. Mrs. Packer, vieux rose georgette, gold- .spangles; Mrs. Palmer,-' .flame taffeta;' Mrs, Lethburg, lemon crepe/de ehinfe'; Miss' Mclvor, ivory "crepe de chine y Miss Freeman, salmon - rayon; Miss Dwyer, blue velvet and georgette; Mrs. Mott, blue,satin; Mrs. Riley, flame crepe de chine; ' Mrs. Younger, flame crepe:de r r chine, gold lace;-Miss Martin, blue:taffeta; Miss Pumphrey,blue georgette ajid silver lace; Misa Cunningham, blue" taffeta; Mrs.-Manson, blue velvet; Miss 1.. Pumphrey, salmon pink taffeta; Miss Deadman, green georgette; Miss A. Deadman, tangerine chenille georgette and gold lace; Mrs. Murphy, red georgette; Miss Robinson, blue taffeta'; Miss G. White, ivory georgette and silver lace; Mrs. Leckie, blue taffeta; Miss Ryan, pink satin. An excellent hand-round supper was served hy the ladies and gentlemen of the committee. "
