AUCKLAND SHAREMARKEI.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE. BANKS STILL WEAK. TELEGRAM FROM ALBURNIA. The week opened with fair, bidding at the 10 o'clock call, but with the downward trend of values still in evidence. In the banking section Commercial of Australia again attracted special attention, and orders to sell made possible two transactions in the room at the reduced figure of £1 6/10, and with more offered at. the same figure. A late sale on Saturday of Bank of Australasia at £13 15/ showed a drop of 6/ in the last fortnight. New South Wales were also weaker, being offered at £48 7/6. In the miscellaneous section Australians were still weak, both Electrolytic Zinc and Dunlop Perdriau being offered at lower rates.

An inquiry for Bartholomew Timber came forward with a buyer at par. A report of picked stone found by the Alburnia Company revived interest in this scrip, and buyers offered 8d for the shares paid to 2/10, while sellers raised their reserve from 1/1 to 2/. The Noon Call. Quotations at the noon call followed closely those of the morning, and the only completed sale was one of Ohmemuri. The gilt-edged section is not so active as it was, and there were no offers for the s%'s. mterost Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as follows for the latest sales:—
