GERMAN MINE.

LAID BY RAIDER WOLF

Swept Up By Australian Trawler.

IN TRACK OF SHIPPING.

(United P.A.-Electric Telegraph-Copyright) (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A German mine, apparently one of those laid in the track of shipping off Gabo Island by the raider Wolf in 1917, -was recovered by the trawler Koraaga near Cape Everard. The trawl had been dragging on the ocean bottom in 65 fathoms and those of the crew with minesweeping experience were startled when the mine tumbled out on deck. It was about four feet high, with diameter two feet and weighed 5 cwt. It is thought that the mine is now harmless, but naval men will examine it to-day.
