OBITUARY.

MRS. LOUISA E. COBLEY,

The death of Mrs. Louisa E. Cobley took place at the age of 81 yeans at the home of her daughter, Otahuhu, on October 27, Mrs. Cobley was born in London and came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship Lady Alicia (52 years ago,' landing at Dunedin. The same year the family came on to Auckland, where Mrs. Cobley had lived ever since with the exception of a short time spent at Thames. She was married to the late Mr. William Henry Cobley, who, with Messrs. White, Ciarkson and Hunt, discovered the Shotover mine in Karaka Cree)k, Thames, each partner getting abont £40,000 for his share of the find. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Cobley lived at Devonport, but for the last three years the latter resided at Otahuhu. The following children survive: Messrs. W. H. and E. V. Cobley, Mesdames M. Markey, E. Gubb and G. A. K. Curtis, the latter now living at Te Aroha.
