"The ladies have us all under their hands," said Mr, J. S. Barton, S.M., at a sitting of the Returned Soldjers' Employment Compiissipn, when the yarir ous occupations to which injured men could turn their hands were being considered. "If the ladies would only return to woollen stockings much employment could he found for returned soldiers and others," Mr. Barton said. The ladjes he had spoken to, however, had assured him that there was no hope of this, because Avhat London and Paris ordered they must do.
