APPEAL TO JOCKEYS.. BENEFICIAL RESULTS. ; (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDLN, this day. Before the start of the Dunedin races,, Mr. A. C. Hanlon, the president of the club, assembled all the riders, and appealed to them to assist the committee in keeping the sport clean by riding straight.and fairly. He reminded them that the committee had much power in dealing with their licenses, and informed them that there would be .patrols stationed at different parts of the course.' Mr. Hanlon's appeal had. a good effect/ and riders played .their part,well.: One of the most experienced .riders at. the meeting told an.official of the club.that it. was just the sort of thing that'was' required, and from .his own experiences' he found the riding much cleaner, than usual at Wingatui.. ~,..
