TAKAPUNA CROQUET CLUB.
The Takapuna Croquet Club held its official opening day on Saturday, a large number of members, old : and new, meeting together for the occasion. The president, Mrs. J. W. Hayden,..made the opening speech, and called on Mr. P. .Coulthard, the president of -the Bowling Club, to play the first ball. Progressive croquet was played, the winners' being:-Mrs. Da vies (A) and Mr. Arthur White (B). A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the ladies of the club, at which all members of the Bowling Club present were entertained. The table decorations were much admired, representing l the club colours, gold.'and white, carried out in Iceland, poppies, the [work- : bf Mrev Nagle: and -Mis. -Cutler.' —■—-- J
