MISSING SPEEDBOAT.
REPORTED FOUND.
ASHORE AT TAMAKI
DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING.
A launch answering to the description of the missing speedboat Baby Lu is reported to be ashore on the reef oH Tamaki River. As the boat is too far from the shore for her name to be read, the owner of the Baby Lu, accompanied by detectives, left Auckland by launch this morning to examine her.
The Baby Lu is owned by Mr. W. A. Boucher, who bought her two years ago. She is of the runabout type, and is 26ft long. She was taken from her moot'ingb Buckland's Beach, at the mouth of the in Mechanics' Bay on Tuesday night, and no trace of her had been found until this morning. When search was being mado on the waterfront yesterday it was found that a number of the boatshed9 had been broken into and that benzine and other things had been removed. There was occasion to visit one launch at her moorings, and on board was found a youth who had with him firearms and sheath knives in his belt. The youth was detained until the police were communicated with. A charge is to bo made against him at the Children's Court.
