FIJI RADIO TO TALK ON SUNDAY. FAMOUS CHOIR TO BE HEARD. (From Our Ovrn Correspondent.)' ' SUVA, September 14. Suva Radio announces that it has arranged with Rev. R, L. McDdnald, chairman of- the Methodist Mission in Fiji, to transmit to Sydney on Sunday,. September 22, singing by the famous. Native Fijian Choir from the Jubilee Church, followed by a 'short address in Fijian by the Rev. Chairman, who will then translate the address into English. The choir is one of the chief "sights" of Suva to visitors, their singing being most beautiful, the effect of the deep organlike tones of the men being a glorious harmony in itself. It is also announced that the A.WA., Ltd., will rebroadcast the above programme so that all may listen in if so desired. On Monday morning the Suva Radio will send out wireless messages to Australia and later to London, by finalised arrangements with the Federal Government. The event is of such importance that many public men here, including his Excellency, the 'ActingGovernor, the Colonial Secretary, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, the proprietor of the "Fiji Times" and "Herald," and others will all dispatch special messages. The Radio will now jbe able to compete with the Pacific Cable at same rates.
