WILD RIDE.

TAXI (CHARGES HOUSE. PASSENGERS ESCAPE UNINJURED. A house at the corner of Carrisc Place and Dominion Road was fiercely attacked by a taxicab last evening. The car was 011 its way down Dominion Road, when it suddenly swerved across the footpath, I crashed through the fence, ploughed its j way across the lawn and, smashing into the front steps of the house, came to a sudden halt. The bonnet of the car buried itself in the pile of splintered timber and was badly damaged, while the front axle was from the chassis and the wheels twisted. Neither the driver nor the passengers—who for a few brief moments had wondered what their destination was going to be —were injured.
