CAUSED BY BOYS.
MYSTERIOUS FIRE. MAGNIFYING GLASS USED. (I3y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. The mystery surrounding the outbreak of fire in the drapery shop of Miss Ellen M. Taylor, in Seddon Street, last Sunday, when a window blind was found burning, has been cleared up. It was thought at the time that the fire was caused by the concentration of the sun's rays on the glass. A round hole some Bin in diameter was found burning about 2ft clear of the bottom of the blind, and there were 110 other signs of fire. The sun's rays had certainly been concentrated on the glass, but by means of a magnifying glass manipulated by boys. Four boys or about 14 years are said to bo implicated, and it is reported that a similar but unsuccessful attempt was made on three other business places in the main street of the town. Miss Taylor's stock is insured for £400 in the Norwich Union Office.
