COAL AFIRE.
STEAMER RACING FOR PORT.
(Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. An Albany message state? that thi' Irish steamer Knockfierna, en route to Melbourne from Immingham, is making for Albany with fire in her coal in No. 1 hold. A wireless message from the ship stated that the coal was very hot and was giving off a heavy quantity of gas continuously. There was no immediate danger, however, and the lire was.being kept under control.
