SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL
MANUKAU ROVERS- CLUB'S GALA.
Well deserved success is mining the way of the Manukau Rovers Rugby Football Club in their efforts to raise funds for the club and for general improvements to the training quarters. A seven-dav carnival was opened at the club's grounds, Princes Street, Onehunga, on Saturday last, and has been well attended each evening.
A feature of the carnival is the wide variety of side shows. All told there are no fewer than twenty of these attractions, all of which are proving equally as popular as they did at the Winter Show. In addition to the side shows there is a fine array of stalls, the contents of which offer a wide range of variety to the visitor.
As additional attractions, the committee have arranged different forms of entertainment for each night. This evening visitors will witness a first-class gymnastic display, while to-morrow the programme will be handled by the Auckland Highland Dancing Association, whose items are invariably well received. On Friday evening & series of vaudeville acts will be staged and a noted ventriloquist will also be in attendance. The carnival will come to an end on Saturday, when it will be open both during the afternoon and in the evening. The stage entertainment during the evening will again be in the hands of the Highland Association.
The club are fortunate in' having the assistance of an energetic ladies' committee whose untiring efforts have played a big part in the success of the carnival.
