SEASON NEARLY OVER,

WAIPAHI'S LAST TRIP.

The Cook Island fruit season is nearly .finished, and the Union Company's steamer Waipahi, which is due at Auckland from Earotonga this afternoon, will make only one more trip this season".

During the season the Waipahi takes a carcp of wood for cases down to the Islands, and comes back full of fruit. She usually loads at Earotonga, Aitutaki, Atiu, Mauke and Manjrn'a. 0 her present trip she omitted Mangaia, and loaded only at the four islands. Her present cargo will he discharged at the King's wharf, and she is to sail again at noon on ■Friday. On her return she will probably enter the coastal trade, or ■else lay up until next season.
