TRAWLERS' AWARD.
TERMS OF OLD AGREEMENT. .' . An award covering the employment of Auckland seamen and firemen, on; the trawlers, of Messrs.. Sanford, Limited, was filed by- the Arbitration Court this' morning. 'The matters in dispute were wages, hours.of labour at sea, and term of award. ~,:.. ■'..-.' In the momorandum the Court states, that the matters in dispute have been settled pn the. lines of the expired industrial agreement. As it was .questionable whether .the Court had jurisdiction to include in an award 'certain provisions contained in the reconlinendations 'of the Conciliation Council .these clauses have, been emitted meantime and- the Court will state a case for the opinion of the Court of Appeal on, the point'. Power, to amend the award to deal with the preference question was; reserved ■ till after the'decision of the Court, of Appeal.
